I have nothing but the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform. Genetic circumstances on my part prevented me from serving my country. It’s one of the hardest jobs in the world and one of the most important.
These days, the media seems to be overfond of reporting the bad stories about a few bad apples ad naseum. I hope, if anyone currently serving or if they have previously served in the armed forces is reading this, that they will understand and take it to heart that I know not all of you are like that. Every group has a few that don’t quite pass muster and I know that those people do not represent you or your lives or your beliefs.
Thank-you for serving our country and for protecting my and everyone else’s freedom. Without you, I know that I would not be free to hold down a job, much less write, create this blog, or create any of the art that I do. No one else who lives here would be able to, either. I am so grateful for you and for everything that you sacrificed. I am so grateful to the families of those serving and those who have served and for their sacrifices as well. From the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul, thank-you.
